well you never use oil in any type of transmission
you use hydrolic fluid

Some of those Mowers take a Synthetic Oil ( Mobile 1 ) or the like. Manufacturer would know for sure.

i own a repair shop, and i run 85-140 in mine and it does real good its been in it for 3 years and no problems yet with it,its real good and thick, and will stay on the gears real good ,if its an automatic trans-axle,,it may use a transmission type oil on it,,look at it real good when you drain it,,this should give you a real good idea of what it should have in it,,good luck with it,happy new years.

depends on what type of mower. Most mowers are made by MTD no matter the brand.Usually you will find an 800 number under the seat to them.Call it and they will give you a specification.
