Grown ups–when did you start to get the hang of balancing check books and soccer practice?

I feel behind the times. I’m 26 with 2 kids but man…I’m drained and stressed. I stuggle to gain serenity anymore. I guess I’m down today and it doesn’t help that I’m a single mom, but I don’t ever want that to be a discuragment to me. Any helpful tips?

that’s why my husband balances our checkbook. i still can’t, and I’m 29.

go talk to someone. a therapist will help you a lot. mine has kept me sane these past few weeks. being a single mom is hard, but you need to rely on friends and family. make sure you get EVERY PENNY of that child support. and no more kids until you find a great husband. (not lecturing, I’m sure you know.) good luck, and talk to someone. get money counseling if you need it. your kids are most important.

Honestly. I don’t know how you do it. I only had 1 kid when I was 27 and he has been a handful since. Now at 19, I am hard pressed to either kick him out or give him a hug. I don’t know what I would have done if I had 2. Know that the most important job/thing in life is being a Mom. I just recently grew up as a Mom. It was almost too late. I just eeked it out. Thank God. I almost died 4 years ago. On my deathbed, all I could think about was my child. I finally lost myself. Mine was perhaps an extreme situation, but it lead to many lessons. Email me if you want. Mom to Mom. I am always happy to share.
