Brush Aside plugged sewers with this drain services project

What comes to mind quickly when faced with clogged waste pipes in your bathroom? If you are not planning to use a drain services company The simplest one is to use the good old plunger. What’s involved is very clear, cover the drainpipe with the plunger and push. But you should avoid applying unnecessarily too much force to the plunger when pulsating it up and down. To achieve the desired effect, the drainage should be totally covered with the head of the plunger and then the bell-shaped rubber must be pressed down slowly; next the handle should be pulled up fast and with good enough force to produce an effective suction. Hopefully the suction of the upwards movement of the waste pipes plunger will pull what ever is stuck in your drain pipe back up into the bathroom toilet, tub or sink. It should be noted here that some bath tubs and sinks have over flow outlets that must be plugged with a sponge or wet towel before using your plunger if this approach is to work.

Instead of using your plunger you can apply commercial drain services products containing chemicals that can dissolve the clog, for instance concentrated drains cleaner. First attempt to clear the drain pipe with a plunger, only then should you try the chemical solutions as they can be hazardous for the novice. Let the chemicals stay in the drain pipe for some time and then wash them out with hot water, do this slowly to ensure that the water is flowing away. Just to be careful, you must put on clothes that you wouldn’t care about if they get spoiled by dirt or harmful chemicals.  This is an advantage of using a drain services company – they come equipped. And since plunging can throw water in any direction you might want to consider eye-wear in order to protect you from any chemicals. The chemical product comes with specific manufacturer’s directions; it is important to read and follow them carefully.

Another thing that you can do, if the plunger does not remove the blockage, is to use the pliers and pipe wrench to open the nuts that hold the P-trap in place. Now, this process can be really messy, so keep the towel and bucket handy. Chrome plated fittings can be protected from scratches by taping up the teeth of the pliers or wrench; that should also give you a firmer grip on the nuts of the trap. Once you have removed the P-trap you can inspect the trap thoroughly for any blockage. Unfortunately if you can’t find anything, the problem probably runs a lot deeper and could be anywhere between the trap and the soil stack.

A deep clog in the toilet can be loosened by a toilet auger. However a drain services company drainage snake is more suitable for bath tub or kitchen sink drains. The flexible snake wire can be inserted deep into pipework of smaller diameter. Once the snake has reached the blockage you can twist the adjustable handle which will drill into the obstruction so you can then pull the material out. After you have successfully removed the the blockage you should put the P-trap back into place and check if water can flow through freely. Ensure that all the joints and the P-trap are firmly sealed and that there is no leakage anywhere.

If none of the steps you have taken work, it is time to bring in an expert plumber or drain services contractor. If the blockage is stuck in the soil stack or the sewer service pipe has collapsed either due to age or because of natural causes, then you can do nothing much expect for relying on the expert drain services company to solve your problem.
